Buyer Checklist for a 12G-SDI Slip Ring in Machine Vision and Rotary Equipment

A quotation for a video slip ring is only useful when every supplier receives the same technical information. A model name and the phrase 12G-SDI are not enough. Buyers should define the mechanical interface, full circuit list, cable assembly and acceptance method before comparing price or delivery.

LPT000-0405-06S-HF01 is a hybrid slip-ring reference with a radial stator-side cable exit and an integrated high-frequency path capable of 12G-SDI transmission. It was developed for a radar-antenna application. The architecture may also inform other rotating imaging projects, subject to a project-specific review.

Checklist item 1  Mechanical installation

Send the supplier an outline drawing showing available diameter, length, mounting holes, shaft arrangement and rotating side. Mark nearby guards, bearings and structural parts. If the stator cable must leave radially, show the required direction and the clearance available for cable bend radius.

State the rotation speed, direction, reversing pattern and duty cycle. Do not ask the slip ring to support structural loads unless the approved design specifically allows it.

Checklist item 2  Complete electrical schedule

List each circuit separately. Include voltage, normal current, peak condition, signal type, grounding and shield requirements. Identify the 12G-SDI channel separately from control and sensor circuits. If spare circuits are required, state their intended function.

The final circuit schedule for LPT000-0405-06S-HF01 should be confirmed on the approved drawing. Buyers should not derive current ratings or circuit quantities only from an abbreviated model code.

Checklist item 3  Video-link definition

Provide the source device, receiver, video format, cable type, cable length and connector requirements. Include adapters, patch panels or converters that will remain in the installed system. Ask the supplier to describe the validation arrangement and any assumptions.

A representative link test is more informative than a generic claim of high-definition video transmission. Both parties should agree on the test configuration before purchase approval.

Checklist item 4  Environment and service

Factories and outdoor sites in Vietnam can present different combinations of heat, humidity, dust and water exposure. Specify measured or required conditions for the actual installation. Do not assume that a standard indoor configuration has the required environmental protection.

Ask about inspection access, cable replacement, permitted cleaning methods and the documentation supplied with the product. If local technicians will maintain the equipment, request clear drawings and service instructions.

Checklist item 5  Compare exceptions as well as price

Issue one controlled specification to all bidders and require a written list of exceptions. Compare the mechanical fit, electrical schedule, video validation, documentation and support together. A lower quotation can create redesign costs if cable exits or interface details are missing.

Before ordering, confirm the final drawing revision and acceptance plan. This gives the supplier a stable production definition and gives the buyer a practical basis for incoming inspection.
