IP68 protection grade is the highest protection degree of the slip ring. The slip ring that reaches this protection level can work under water for a long time. JINPAT Electronics has developed a number of IP68 protection level slip rings.
This type of slip ring has been improved from the standard slip ring LPC-18. In addition to the internal and external structure changes, the protection level reaches IP68, and its current channels become 6 circuits 5A. The LPC-18 itself has 18 channels of 2A current. Here, the JINPAT engineer did not change it. Instead, the 3 channels of 2A currents were connected in parallel to achieve a 5A current. In this way, a high-protection slip ring of the LPC-18A-0605-IP68 was born.
The IP68 slip ring must have very strong hardness and superior sealing for the purpose of working normally for hundreds of meters under water. The slip ring adopts a stainless steel outer casing, and waterproof rubber is attached to the outer openings, and the metal and waterproof PG joints are used for the rotor and stator terminals. In addition, due to the relatively large diameter of the wire used, a large amount of waterproof glue is attached to the joint of the PG joint.
